Since 1922, Sola the Netherlands has built its reputation and business on providing stylish designs and the highest quality cutlery and service equipment.
Today, we design and produce cutlery and service equipment that is used all around the world in the domestic, hospitality, travel and service industry.
The beginning
From humble beginnings in 1868 when patriarch Johannes Albertus Adolf Gerritsen first opened a jewelry store in Amsterdam, the entrepreneurial spark was ignited.
In 1922 Marius J Gerritsen started the company Sola as we know it today, at the Van Reenenweg in Zeist, from where it still operates most of it’s business.
That innovative mind and craftsmanship was passed on to the next generation of the Gerritsen family, who are now celebrating the 100th anniversary of Sola the Netherlands.

In 2018 we became members of Amfori BSCI. This organisation is devoted for honest and sustainable trade and Sola is happy and proud to be a part of this.
